Sleepwalking with the enemy

The conviction this week of a Muslim radical for inciting racial hatred once again highlights the growing threat posed by the pernicious fringe of Islamism. We have only ourselves to blame, says Ruth Dudley Edwards

'UK you will pay, Islam is on its way," is the chilling slogan favoured by Muslim radical Abdul Saleem, who was convicted this week of stirring up racial hatred at a rally in London last year. Addressing the crowd in Belgravia Square, near the Spanish and German embassies, Saleem was filmed saying: "There will come a time when we will stand inside these embassies. There will come a time when we will remove that flag. There will come a time when we will raise the flag of Islam – whether you like it or not, Islam is superior and cannot be surpassed."

Civilizations clash over cartoons

The press should not self-censor because of Islamic extremism

The Daily Evergreen Published: 09/18/2009

On Sept. 30, 2005, the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten ran 12 editorial cartoons, depicting the Islamic prophet Muhammad in a comical way. These cartoons were meant to illustrate the rise of Islamic terrorism.

Islam opposes any depiction of their prophet, even favorable, for fear it could lead to idolatry.

There was an almost immediate response that was irrational, out of line and anything but peaceful from the Islamic community. Danish embassies in Syria, Lebanon and Iran were set ablaze and mobs rioted political buildings throughout Europe, with a death toll nearing 100 lives worldwide.

It can be safe to say that Muhammad is not a prophet to mess with.

West's conflict with Islam coming to a head?

Recent incidents in France, Germany, the U.S. and Great Britain serve to highlight an ongoing problem with the rampantly open-ended immigration of the past few decades into these countries, especially from Islamic nations. Since the early 1970s, more than a few commentators have noted the potentially explosive situation when the two seemingly irreconcilable cultures of (Middle) East and West meet—and we now appear to be watching the outcome of that raised specter.

While the immigration of people from Muslim nations has been taking place in dribs and drabs over the centuries, it is only in relatively recent times that an unprecedented amount of adherents to Islam have become occupants and citizens of the Lands of the Infidels or "Dar al-Harb," which literally translates as "place of war."

The only viable solution appears to be education as to the world's numerous cultures dating back many thousands of years. Yet, this knowledge is being suppressed by almost all sides of the various debates, largely based on religious dogma of all manner, including and especially the Abrahamic faiths. In the coming decades, humankind may find that it will need to move quickly beyond these archaic belief systems in order to survive.

Islam vs. the West

Why is there Conflict?

The clash between the West and Islam will be vital to the course of world events over the coming decades. Islam is, in fact, the only civilization which ever put the survival of the West in doubt - and more than once! What is interesting is how this conflict flows not simply from the differences between the two civilizations, but more importantly from their similarities.

Why Islam Is Fire

By Amil Imani | September 15, 2009

The Islamic fire, fueled by immense oil income, is raging in certain regions of the world, smoldering in others, and is ready to ignite in yet other parts of the world. It is imperative for the free people of the world to abandon all illusions about Islam and put out its fire, once and for all. Multiculturalism, live and-let live, is a delusion of kind-hearted naïve people. Islam, as fractured as it is, is a non-compromising mono-culture; a cruel culture of a primitive people handed down by Muhammad some 1400 years ago.

Obstacles in Liberating Islam

Världen idag 15 September 2009
By Dr. Wafa Sultan

Dr. Wafa Sultan is a Syrian-born certified psychiatrist; human rights activist and author of the forthcoming book “A God That Hates”. She writes:

As an Arab woman who suffered for three decades living under Islamic Sharia, it is clear to me that Islam’s political ideology and Sharia must be fought relentlessly by Western civilization to prevent its application in a free society.

However, I have found myself fighting on two fronts. The first front is against Islamists, a daunting fight indeed. But the other front is one shaped by too many uninformed individuals who like to view themselves as open minded “progressives”. They seem to somehow claim superiority on compassion, on peace, on open-mindedness and on appreciation of other cultures. Regarding themselves as tolerant, free thinking individuals, they avoid questioning Muslims’ harmful intentions. They restrict themselves to self-criticism, and make politically-correct excuses for Islamism. Regrettably, they show their indisputable acceptance of ‘others’ at the expense of the public’s responsibility to learn the truth about Islam’s detrimental tenets.

It is crucial for these so called “progressives” to realize that Islam is indeed based on an anti-liberal system. They need to awaken to the inhumane policies and practices of Islamists around the world. They need to realize that Islamism oppose the liberal values they cherish.

For me, confronting those who adhere to multicultural relativism is a most painful battle. Their standpoint makes the efforts of Muslim reformers more challenging. When Westerners make politically-correct excuses for (...)
